FROM TENNESSEE TRI-CITIES Head south on I-26 E for 21 miles to US-321/TN-67 toward Elizabethton. After 4.5 miles turn Right on TN-362 S/TN-67 E, then turn right onto Gap Creek Rd. At end turn right onto TN-37 S/US-19E S. Follow for 17 miles then turn left onto NC-194 N. Follow into Banner Elk and turn right at light onto NC-184. At end turn left onto NC-105 N. Follow into Boone to end, then turn right onto US-421 S. and go 30 miles. Take 421 South to Exit 268A – NC 16/NC 18 exit. At end of ramp, turn left. Go approx. 1 mile through Downtown Wilkesboro. At light past from Re-Store sign, at intersection with Oakwoods Rd go straight (do not follow NC-16/NC-18). Continue on Old US-421 about 1/2 mile, crossing a bridge. Take next left on Snyder St into Wilkesboro Wastewater Treatment Plant. See below “From Snyder St.”
FROM BOONE Take 421 South 30 miles. Take 421 South to Exit 268A – NC 16/NC 18 exit. At end of ramp, turn left. Go approx. 1 mile through Downtown Wilkesboro. At light past from Re-Store sign, at intersection with Oakwoods Rd go straight (do not follow NC-16/NC-18). Continue on Old US-421 about 1/2 mile, crossing a bridge. FROM GREENSBORO Take I-40 West to 421 North in Winston-Salem go about 51 miles to Exit 268A – NC 16/NC 18 exit. At end of ramp, turn left. Go approx. 1 mile through Downtown Wilkesboro. FROM SNYDER ST go straight up hill through white gate, past brick building on left. Take right on Tom’s Roost, up steep gravel road. You may park in field adjacent to bath house on left OR continue up hill (steep gravel, be cautious of water bars) and park adjacent to registration and the finish at the top of the hill.
